Exporting a Report to XML

You can export a report definition to an XMLExtensible Markup Language. A structured electronic file that allows you to exchange information between computer systems. file.

Prerequisites: You must have the 'Create Report - Report Editor', 'Create Report - Question Wizard', or 'Create Report - Report Designer', and 'View / Run Reports' and 'Export Reports' functions enabled for your role.

To export reports to XML:

1. Use one of the following options:
   1. Generate a report (page 1). If you have created a new report, you must first save it to enable the export functionality. Then, right click on the report and choose View/Export Report Definition from the shortcut menu.
   2. In the Report Manager tab, select a report. Then, go to More > View/Export Report Definition.
2. The View Report Definition dialog opens and displays the report definition in xml format. Click Save. The xml file will be saved to the default location for file downloads. A dialog may appear to prompt you to open the file or show the file in the folder to which it is saved, depending on your browser.
3. Click Cancel to close the View Report Definition dialog .
