Unlocking Users

Based on settings defined in the security policy (Security Policies), a user may be locked out of the system after a number of unsuccessful login attempts within a defined period of time. If this option is enabled, the user must wait a specified number of minutes before a login attempt will be allowed or have an administrator manually unlock the profile. The Change Status action link is used by administrators to activate user profiles that have been locked out, as shown below:

  1. Access the User page (not shown, see Users).
  2. Tip: Click Advanced Search to open the Search - User Profile dialog and locate the users who have been locked out.
  3. Check the box next to one or more users who have been locked out of the system.
  4. Click the Change Status button. The Change Status dialog opens.
  5. Select Active from the Status list.
  6. Click OK. The page refreshes and the value in the Status column is updated.
  7. See Creating, Editing or Copying a User wing topics for more details
