Security Policies

Security policies control the user’s login and password parameters. Together these control how a user logs into RL6. The Security Policies page is used to create, view and edit security polices, as well as viewing the users associated with them. The Security Policies page link is located under the Security heading in the Admin Center..

Note: If your organization uses external authentication (also referred to as LDAPClosed or Active Directory authentication), security policies are not used.

The Security Policies page contains the following buttons (Note: some buttons are active only when one or more records have been selected):

  1. New – Opens the Security Policy Detail dialog, allowing you to define a new security policy. See Creating a Security Policy for more details.
  2. Edit – Opens the selected record in the Security Policy Detail dialog where you can modification and save your changes.
  3. Copy – Opens the Security Policy Detail dialog and inserts the values from the selected record into the various fields. All fields but the Security Policy Name are copied exactly. For this field, the text CopyOf appears in front of the original name. You can modify the fields as necessary and click Save to create the new policy.
  4. Delete – Allows you to delete the selected records so long as no users are associated with the security policies. You must confirm the deletion by clicking Yes.
  5. View Users – Opens the Users Assigned to Policy dialog and presents a list of all users who are currently assigned the selected security policy. Click OK to return to the Security Policies page.
  6. Reset List – Removes any filters that have been applied and refreshes the list.
