Enabling Users to Act As the Current User

The Act As tab is used to determine which users can act as the current user. Using this feature, users can allow others (or administrators can assign users) to act as themselves. This means the assigned user can log in as someone else to view and manage their files, which is useful when users are away on vacation or on leave, for example.

Note: The AdministratorClosedThe person in charge of managing and maintaining RL6. must have the “Edit Act As list” role in order to access this tab.

To select users that can act as the user currently being edited:

  1. Access the User dialog box (Creating, Editing or Copying a User): and click the Act As tab.
  2. Note: The Roles tab must be saved before making changes to the Act As tab.
  3. Select a module.
  4. To give users full control over which users can act as them, click Allow User Control.
    This will disable the
    Add User button.
  5. Note: This will need to be performed for each module.
  6. To select which users can act as the user:
    1. Click Add User.
    2. Select a user from the list.
    3. Select start date and end dates in the date fields. If the End Date is left empty, the assigned user can begin acting as this user immediately and indefinitely.
    4. Note: If users are in different time zones, these dates are based on the time zone of the user whose profile is being modified.
    5. Enter a description, e.g., “to manage Risk files while on vacation.”
    6. Click Save.
      The user is added to the list of users.
  7. Once the user appears listed on the Act As tab, click Delete (not shown) to remove the user as needed.
  8. Click Save access another tab to do the following:
