File Properties

The File Properties dialog allows you to view information about the file’s creation, current state and status. More importantly, it allows you to define file ownership and grant access to users who normally do not have access to the file because it is not within their scope.

You can access the File Properties dialog by opening a file from the File Info Center. Then, click File Properties from the More Actions button.

Tip: To access file properties, you can also select the check box beside a file in the File Info Center, click More, and then click Properties from the drop-down.

Note: For Peer Review users, only Committee members are allowed to view or edit the properties of Peer Review files. If you are a reviewer, subject or a user who is not a committee member, a message is displayed when you attempt to view File Properties to inform you that you are not allowed to access File Properties. Click OK to close the message.

File information is grouped by one of three tabs:

  • General (shown) – shows the file details (File ID, File Name, Type of File and File Time Zone) and time stamps (date/time and user who created, last modified, last accessed, closed and deleted the file). Allows you to change the file's time zone.
  • Note: The File Time Zone applies to and provides context for calculated fields related to the file. This value is to match the time zone of the user who submitted the file. The time stamps in the General tab are displayed in the current user's time zone.
  • Status/Ownership (page 1) – allows you to view and change the status of the file, add a responsible and current file owner, and mark the file as “important” so you can quickly locate it from your File Info Center.
  • Security (page 1) – allows you to grant access to users who normally do not have access to the file because it is outside of their scope.
