Adding Activity to an Event

RL6:Infection allows you to link events from different inboxes to one surveillance file. This helps you build a complete picture of the infection. From any inbox page, you can view activity for a patient: lab tests, admissions, surgical procedures, prescriptions, central line insertions, radiology results, device utilizationsand observations. Initially only the last six months of activity is shown, with access to older activity, in six month chunks, a few clicks away.

To add an activity to an event:

  1. Access an inbox and search for events.
  2. Click the Activity tab. All events for the last six months are shown.
  3. Use the following controls on the right to limit or expand the activity shown:
    1. Check Boxes – to limit the activity to the selected categories.
    2. More>> Link – to expand the activity in six month increments.
  4. Click on an activity and drag it to the area just below the event’s follow-up action area. When you click and drag the activity this area is highlighted in green; it turns dark green when your mouse is positioned directly over this area.
  5. Release the mouse button in the dark green area. When you create a new surveillance file (or use an existing one), the linked activity appears in the EventClosed Attachments section of the file (Making Events Reportable).
  6. Click the remove link to disassociate the activity from the event.
