Making Events Reportable

Reports can be configured to analyze the events that have been attached to surveillance files by selecting Surveillance File EventClosedA patient or employee related occurrence which is recorded in paper or electronic format. Once recorded, an event file is reviewed by a file manager who may involve other individuals (e.g. using tasks and follow-ups features) to help investigate and resolve the event. from the ContextClosedThe type of records that will be examined for reporting purposes, such as surveillance files, surgical procedures, central line insertions, etc. The values contained in other reporting drop-down lists change based upon the selected Context. list in the Report Editor (Defining Report Data). Because only one event per category can be evaluated for reports, RL6:Infection allows you to choose which one it should be. In the Event Attachments to this File section, events used for reporting purposes are denoted with a pie chart icon. The first event added to the category is made reportable by default. As more events are added to the surveillance file, however, it may become necessary to change the event that is used for reporting purposes.

To make event attachments reportable:

  1. Open a file (not shown, see Accessing Surveillance File Details) and scroll down to the Event Attachments to this File section.
  2. Select the attachment(s) you would like to make reportable.
  3. Click the Make Reportable link. The page refreshes and the pie chart icon is moved to the selected event.
