Modifications with the Chart Designer

The following modifications can be made with the Chart Designer:

  1. Chart Type – change the chart to a different chart type (e.g., bar, pie, line, spline, bubble, area, radar or any number of three-dimensional charts). To change the chart type, select the series or series template in the Chart Structure tree, go to the Properties panel and from the View list field, choose a chart type.
  2. Appearance – view, create or select a color scheme for the chart.
  3. Chart Titles – add a chart title by click the Add (+) button next to the Titles element in the Chart Structure tree and select a position for the title. Then, go to the Properties panel to enter the Text for the title and format text color and font size and format for it.
  4. Point Labels – determine the position and appearance of the labels that appear for each data series (Modifying Point Labels).
  5. Panes – update the chart wall and border of the chart.
  6. Legend – modify the position and appearance of the chart’s legend.
  7. Diagram – rotate the chart, change its margins and add secondary x- and y-axes.
  8. Series Views – change the appearance of the bars, pie slices or other data series representations.
  9. Chart – modify the entire background of the chart, including the area beneath the axis titles and legend.
  10. Axes – modify the appearance of the x- or y-axis (Rotating X-Axis Labels) or add constant lines (Adding a Constant Line to a Bar Chart) and strips to the chart.
