Adding File Details

Once you have visited the patient or met with the appropriate medical staff, you must document your findings in the surveillance file. In the File section, described below, the fields that control when and where the file is used can be modified. In addition, this section contains the grids used to document isolation precautions (Isolation Precaution Fields), associated criteria (Adding Associated Criteria), comments (Comment Fields) and more.

To modify file details:

1. Open a file (not shown, see Accessing Surveillance File Details).
2. Located partially down the page, find and click the Edit link under File Details to make changes to the file details. The File Details dialog opens.
3. Modify the fields as desired. (See File Fields Descriptions for descriptions.)
4. Click OK. The File Details grid is updated.
5. Click Save to update the file with your changes (not shown).
