Drilling into Report Details

You can create a new chart that compares a single element of a report to another field in the database. In this example, we will drill into the Clinical Process/Procedure slice to determine how many cases of this type have been create per Location Hospital Unit.

Note: For reports saved or created in the new Report Designer, users can use the drill down function for list reports or data grids added to charts. For the current version, only drill down to the file list or to a file directly is supported. Drill down based on other fields are not supported in the new report viewer for Report Designer reports.

To drill into report details:

  1. Hover over a chart element. The mouse pointer changes to a drill.
  2. Click an element. The Drilldown Field list appears.
  3. Locate the field by which you want to analyze the selected element. Use the text field at the bottom to filter the Drilldown Field list (Locating Fields).
  4. Select the field. A new report is created based upon your selection.
