Completing Tasks

To keep a record of the task and denote that the appropriate actions were taken, you should mark the task as Complete. The Complete option is available to select users based on the roles assigned to your user profile and is grouped into three tiers: you may only be allowed work with [1] the tasks assigned to you, [2] the tasks you created for someone else or [3] the tasks created for and by another user.

Prerequisites: You must have the 'Complete Created TasksClosedA unit of work, such as a follow-up, review or request for information, which can be tied to a specific file.' function enabled for your role to complete tasks created by you, and/or the 'Complete Other Users' Tasks' to complete tasks created by other users.

To mark a task complete:

  1. Open the Task Management page and locate the Incomplete tasks you would like to mark complete (page 1).
  2. Open the Task Management page and locate the Incomplete tasks you would like to mark complete.
  3. Check the box next to the task(s) which have been completed.
  4. Click Complete Task:
    1. If you selected a single task, the Complete Task dialog opens. Proceed with the rest of the steps.
    2. If you selected multiple tasks, review the Complete Task(s) details to determine if any individual files still need an assignee response before they can be closed. If so, proceed to Completing Tasks.
  5. On the Complete Task dialog, review the task details and enter an Assignee Response, if necessary.
  6. (Optional) If the task is associated with a file, click Open File to view the file content, or click View Summary (not shown) to view the File Summary that your role allows.
  7. Note: The Open File and View Summary buttons are only available if the task is associated with a file. Additionally, the Open File button is only available if the Task dialog has been opened from outside the associated file (Task Management Page, Patient Center).
  8. Click OK.

After you have performed this operation:

    • the Status of the selected task(s) are changed to Completed
    • the % Completed field for the task is set to 100% complete
    • the tasks are removed from Incomplete views
