Creating Actions for a Provider

As the peer review investigation progresses, you can create actions for a provider after you have sent notification. See Sending a Notification to a Provider.

Prerequisites: You must have the 'View File' and 'Edit File' functions enabled for your role.

To create actions for a provider:

  1. In the Persons Involved tab, choose the provider from the left panel. Then, in the right panel, expand the Provider Actions section.
  2. Under Provider Action Items, click Add. The Provider Action Items dialog appears.
  3. Next to the To field click the Get Email link to enter the provider's email. You can also use the CC field to enter additional parties who will also be notified of the action request.
  4. In the Deadline field, enter the date on which the action must be completed by the provider. (You can also send out a reminder email by defining a Reminder Date.)
  5. Choose an Action Type to indicate the type of action required.
  6. Choose a form from the Form Letters drop-down and click Populate to populate the Instructions field. Review and edit the instructions. Alternatively, you can manually enter in your own instructions.
  7. (Optional) Check the Include Instructions in Email box to include the instructions in the email. If unchecked, the letter is not included in the email notification.
  8. Click Send.
    The action item is added to the Provider Action grid and the file is saved. As well, an email notification containing a link to the action item is sent to the provider.
