Executing a Simple Search

Simple search is the default search method. It allows you to search by module, state and File Name, which is a combination of the general event type or file type, file ID and the date the file was created (for RL6:Risk, RCA or RL6:Feedback) or a concatenation of the claim number, type of claim and Primary KeyClosedA unique number that identifies a record in a database. RL6:Claims files can have the same claim number, for example, and the primary key is used to differentiate between the two files. (for RL6:Claims). A sample file name for RL6:Claims is CLM801 Professional Liability Claim / Medical Malpractice 593. A sample file name for RL6:Risk is Adverse Drug Reaction - 452, 05/15/2010.

To execute a simple search:

  1. Open the Search Page.
  2. Type a value into the search field.
  3. From the Within drop-down, select the type of content you are searching: FilesClosedThe electronic record created when a user submits an incident report, such as a fall or medication error, or when a patient provides feedback. Some organizations refer to files as events, reports, or cases., Important Files, Confidential Files, AlertsClosedA warning that is sent out in the form of an email and/or an in-system alert notification under defined circumstances (e.g. an abnormally high number of complaints or incidents are reported, a high severity incident occurs, or when a file is ignored for a given period of time). Alerts are created by your administrator and are triggered at defined intervals (e.g. daily, weekly, monthly)., FoldersClosedElectronic bins used to store files with similar attributes.   4. Select an RL6 module from the Module drop-down menu.
  5. Click the Search button.
    The Search Results summary appears.
