Arranging Objects on the Page

There are many tools you can use to create the optimal layout for elements in your report. You can align report controls to each other, change the report element's size, change the stacked elements' order, and so on. Select a report control or multiple controls and choose an appropriate command in the Actions section.

To arrange objects on a report page:

  1. Open a report in the designer (not shown, see Editing a Report with Report Designer).
  2. Hold the Shift key and select the elements you would like to arrange. The first one you select is the anchor, meaning the other objects are aligned or resized in relation to this object.
  3. Open the Properties panel and expand the Actions section.
  4. Select a command to arrange the selected objects (Layout Toolbar in the Report Designer). For example:
    1. Align center button - the elements are aligned to the center of the element that was last selected.
    2. Remove Vertical Space button - the vertical space between elements is removed.
    3. Center vertically button. - the selected elements are moved along the horizontal plane to the center of the page.
  5. Tip: You may also click and drag the selected items to place them on the page. Use the arrow keys to nudge them to the next grid mark.
