Patient Data Mapping

The Patient Mapping tab of the Patient Library Management page provides a way for administrators to determine how to map external data (i.e., from HL7ClosedHealth Level-7 is an international set of open standards used to format data and content, allowing different health information systems to easily and effectively communicate with one another. feed) to Patient Center elements. The tab has three sections: Patient Identifier (Identifier Type), Allergy Severities and Facility Code.

Patient Identifier Type Section

The Patient Identifier determines which ADTClosedAdmission, Discharge and Transfer data. identifier type should be mapped to the MRN value in the RL6 patient library, e.g., EE, MRN, PMRN, etc. HL7 ADT specifications describe recommended MRN identifier values (e.g., MRN or MR), but your organization may have configured the feed to use custom types. The drop-down in this section is populated with the unique values detected and allows you to configure mapping customizations if necessary. See Modifying Patient Identifier Types.

Allergy Severities Section

Organizations use various allergy rating scales, while the Patient Center always uses a three-value scale, i.e. Mild, Moderate, and Severe. Some of the standard scales from your HL7 feed are automatically mapped to RL6, e.g., SV maps to Severe and MO maps to Moderate, but you can change these settings in this section. All the severity values detected from your Organization's ADT feed are displayed in the drop-down lists. See Modifying Allergy Severities.

Facility Code Section

The Facility Code section of the Patient Data Mapping tab allows you to view HL7 facility codes that are mapped to RL6 location pick list values. See Mapping Facility Codes.
