Scope Definitions

ScopeClosedThe files to which you have access. definitions determine the files to which a user has access. They are part of the role assignment that is added to a user’s profile. There are three options that can be used in determining the user’s scope. The user may have access to All files, None of the files or a Calculated list of files that is based on conditions set with the Expression Editor.

To access the Scope Definitions page, click the Scope Definitions link under the Security heading in the Admin Center.

The Scope Definitions page contains the following components:

  1. Action buttons:
    1. New – Opens the Scope Details dialog, allowing you to create a scope in the selected module (Creating Scopes)
    2. Edit – Opens the Scope Details dialog, allowing you to view the details and make changes, if necessary
    3. Copy – Opens the Scope Details dialog, allowing you to create a new scope based on the selected one
    4. Delete – Allows you to delete the selected scope(s). The scope must not be assigned to any users in order to be deleted.
    5. View Users – Displays the users who have the scope assigned to their profiles (Changing the Scope for a User)
  2. Search button – Allows you to locate a specific scope definition (Locating Records)
  3. Reset List button – Removes your search filters
  4. Module drop-down list – Filters the display of scope definition by the module selected

Scope Definitions page
