Modifying Surveillance File Status/Ownership

The Status/Ownership tab is used to view who has been assigned responsibility for the surveillance file.

To modify file status/ownership:

  1. Access the File Properties dialog (not shown, see Accessing RL6:Infection File Properties).
  2. Click the Status/Ownership tab.
  3. Make modifications in the three sections:
    1. File Status – displays the Current Status, which is modified in the surveillance file or from the FilesClosedThe electronic record created when a user submits an incident report, such as a fall or medication error, or when a patient provides feedback. Some organizations refer to files as events, reports, or cases. page (Changing the Status of Files ).
    2. Ownership – click the magnifying glass icon to search for the user who should be the Current OwnerClosedThe user who is working on the file at this moment. They are taking the steps necessary to close the file. The Current Owner default to the person who created the file.. The Responsible OwnerClosedTypically a manager whose goal it is to make sure that the file gets closed. The Responsible Owner defaults to the user who created the file. field does not have any effect on the file but can be used for internal record keeping purposes.
      The Current Owner defaults to the user who created the file. From the Files page, you can show all files that you own by selecting My Files from the Patient Group list.
    3. Mark as Important – this functionality will be implemented in a future release of RL6:Infection.
  4. Click Save to return to the file.
