Creating a CLABSI Validation Template

As part of the Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting (IQR) Program, some hospitals are required to submit a validation template containing positive blood culture data. The report needs to find patients with a positive blood culture taken while in ICU or up to 48 hours after leaving ICU.

To create the Central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) validation template:

To access the template, go to Report Center (The Infection Report Center) and then type in /CMS.aspx after /Reports in the address bar, i.e. https://rl6demo.rlsolutions.com/stable/Infection/Reports/CMS.aspx.
Enter the date range for the report.
Select the ICU Location and Blood Culture Test Type.
Click Search to obtain the results.
The results can also be exported to a Microsoft® Excel® spreadsheet.
