Making a File Confidential

File managers that have role permissions to set a file as a “Confidential File” can do so in the File Properties dialog’s Security tab. Marking files as Confidential files can protect sensitive file contents from other users who are not privileged to see the confidential data. Once a file manager marks files as Confidential and saves them, they will also no longer see the files unless administrators have provided them with Confidential File domain access rights.

Prerequisites: You must have the 'File Properties' and 'Make a File Confidential' functions enabled for your role.

To set a file as a confidential file:

  1. Access the File Properties dialog (page 1).
  2. Click the Security tab.
  3. In the Confidential File Access section, check the File is Confidential box.
  4. Enter your details in the Reason text box to explain why file is set to Confidential.
  5. Note: The Confidential File Access section is visible but disabled if you do not have permission to set files to Confidential.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Tip: If you only have permission to set Confidential FilesClosedThe electronic record created when a user submits an incident report, such as a fall or medication error, or when a patient provides feedback.
