Copying Follow-ups

Follow-ups can be copied to linked files, where all fields are copied exactly as saved. You can perform this action if: 1) you have permission to make changes (i.e. not read-only) in the selected file and 2) you have permissions to make changes to the receiving file.

Note: You cannot copy follow-ups to files in different modules (e.g. RL6:Risk to RL6:Feedback).

To copy follow-ups:

  1. Open a file (not shown, see Navigating the File Info Center (page 1)).
  2. Expand the Follow-UpClosed1. (For Infection) Another term for a surveillance file, which is created when the user selects Yes from the Choose a follow-up action control. 2. (For RL6) A file related action taken after the file has been submitted. Examples of follow-ups include investigative notes, meetings with different parties, consultation with patient family. Actions section.
  3. Select the follow-up action you want to copy and click Edit.
  4. In the Work Done on File Follow-up dialog, click Copy to.
  5. In the Copy Work Done on File Follow-up to other files dialog, select the linked file to which you want the follow-up to be copied.
  6. Click OK. A confirmation message is displayed. Click OK to close the message.

The follow-up, including attachments and form letters, is copied to the link file. However, any tasks related to the follow-up are not copied to the linked file.
