HL7 Service
Health Level-7 (HL7) is a non-profit organization that creates standards for the exchange of information between medical applications. In healthcare organizations that have implemented HL7, messages are broadcast by applications that collect data, such as the hospital’s Admit, Discharge and Transfer (ADTAdmission, Discharge and Transfer data.) system.
HL7 Integration with RL6
The RL6 application, which is compatible with HL7 version 2.4, listens for specific messages from the ADT system and then creates, updates or merges their own patient records in a table within the RL Solutions database or on another server. Up to 28 different values ranging from patient name, address, and phone number to the attending doctor, assigned location, and admit date are stored in the RL6 patient data table.
For HL7 Listener service, deployment parameters are accessed in the Environment Manager tool. However, HL7 service settings can be configured within the RL6 application. See Viewing and Editing HL7 Service Settings
