Common Module Role Functions

The tables in this section describe the functions available when Common is selected for the Module. Users must be assigned to a role in the Common module in order to access common areas of the application, such as folders or tasks. The functions are broken down into the following sections:

Table 5-16: Folder Functions

Allows the user to access Folders within RL6 and displays information in the Folder widget when a file is opened in management mode. The link to More Folders in the Folder widget is enabled and all folder related functions are enabled (see below).

Create Folders

Allows users to create new folders. It has no effect on the ability to create a folder through the Submit & Copy function at Entry time. Users can always do that regardless of the setting of this function. The Add this file to a New Folder option is available on the Add File to Folder dialog, which is accessed by going full-screen from the Folder widget or adding the file to a folder. In addition, the New Folder link on the Folder Search Results area is enabled.

Delete Folders

Allows a user to mark a folder for deletion. The Delete link in the Search Results section of the Search Folder page is enabled.

Search for Folders

Allows a user to search for folders by enabling the Folders tab on the Search page. In addition, the Search Now and Clear Criteria buttons on the Folder Tab in the Search page are enabled. From the Folder widget’s Full Screen mode, the Go to Folder Management link is active.

The Search for an Existing Folder to add this file to option on the Add File to Folder dialog(reached by trying to add the current open file to a folder) is enabled.

Note: it is only possible to get to this pop-up if the Add FilesClosedThe electronic record created when a user submits an incident report, such as a fall or medication error, or when a patient provides feedback. Some organizations refer to files as events, reports, or cases. to Folders function is checked.

Manage Folder Saved Searches

Allows the user to work with saved searches for folders by enabling the Save Searches button on the Folders tab of the Search page. In addition, the Search Now, Load and Delete links on the Saved Searches tab in the Search panel are enabled when a saved folder search is selected.

View Folder Contents

Allows the user to see the contents of a folder. It does not control whether a user can see a folder – just the contents. The [+] sign seen in the Search Results section of the folder Search page and full screen mode of the Folders widget is enabled. For RL6:Infection, the folder of File dialogis enabled.

Remove Files from Folders

Allows a user to remove files from folders. User must be able to view folder contents in order to perform this function. The Remove File link, whenever the content of a folder is displayed, is enabled. For RL6:Infection, the Remove Current Files link is enabled in the Folder of File dialog.

Edit Folder Properties

Allows a user to edit a folder's properties. For RL6:Risk / Feedback / Claims, the Properties link in the Search Results section and in the full screen view of the Folders widget are enabled.

For RL6:Infection, the Folder Properties link in the Folder of File dialog is enabled.

Change Folder Access Rights

Allows a user to grant, change or remove access rights to folders.

Note: that users can always view the Access Rights of a folder, this function only controls whether the user can affect the access rights in any way.

The Add User, Modify User's Rights and Remove Users links on the Access Rights tab of the Folder Properties dialog are enabled and access to the Change Access Rights dialog is granted.

Create Report - Denominators

View/Run Common Reports

View Other Users’ Private Report Folders

Save Reports in Other Users' Private Report Folders

Note: in addition to this role permission, you must also have the module role permission: "Save Reports" for the report (i.e. if you save a Risk report, you must have the Save Reports permission for the Risk module).

Manage Other Users' Private Report Folders
