Domain Rights

The DomainClosedThe type of interaction you can have with a file (e.g., read only, append or complete). The files you have access to are based upon your scope. Rights tab is used to restrict the type of interaction the user can have with the files to which they have access (as described in the table below).

Interaction types can be All, Add Follow-up, Read only, or None:

  • All – the user can perform all functions provided by the role.
  • Add Follow-up – the user can only append follow-up details to the files. Other parts of the form will be read-only.
  • Read Only – the user can only view the files but will not be able to make any modifications to the file.
  • None – the user does not have access to the file and the file will not appear in search results, reports, or the File Info Center. Also, the user will not receive alerts related for the file.

By default, RL6 provides All access to files that users own, have been assigned a task for, have been granted access rights to, is within their defined scope or is an incomplete file that they created.

The following table describes the various types of files to which domain rights can be applied to define access for a role:

Table 5-55: Types of Files in the Domain Rights Tab

Types of FilesClosedThe electronic record created when a user submits an incident report, such as a fall or medication error, or when a patient provides feedback. Some organizations refer to files as events, reports, or cases.
