Cluster Properties

There are three types of clusters:

  • Clusters – contain the fields, popup grids and other elements (Element Properties) that are used to capture data. When a Cluster is selected, the General (General Tab), Logic (Logic Tab) and Size (Size Tab) tabs are shown.
  • Static Clusters – contain text that can be used for instructional purposes and support limited HTML markup (e.g., links to other web pages, character styles and text color). When a Static Cluster is selected the General (General Tab), Size (Size Tab) and Content (Content Tab) tabs appear.
  • Custom Clusters – are used by RLDatix developers to support functionality required by RL6:Claims. These clusters should not be used.

General Tab

Caption

Cluster
Static Cluster

The content of this field appears as the cluster title.

Cols

Cluster
Static Cluster

Determines the width of the cluster within the section. The unit is the percentage of the section. Entering 50, for example, will make this cluster half the width of the section. When the field is blank, the cluster defaults to 100 percent.

Static Cluster

Do not modify this field.

Expanded

Cluster

Static Cluster

For forms with tabbed layout (i.e. RootCause or PeerReview), you can determine whether clusters should be expanded (i.e., check the Expanded box) or collapsed (i.e., leave the check box blank) by default.

Note: This option is not available for forms with continuous format (e.g. Risk, Feedback, Claims).

Header Visible

Cluster

Hides the cluster’s caption and dashed line that spans the top of the cluster. Select true to hide the elements. When left blank, the property defaults to false, which means the caption and line are visible. This field is not available for a static cluster.

LookupClosedA field that is used to locate records in the RL6 database, such as a location, patient name or a valid entry for the field. A lookup field is typically identified with a magnifying glass icon.

Cluster

Associate a lookup with the caption to display the magnifying glass icon in the section title. Clicking the icon opens the associated selected lookup. Lookups can be added to sections, clusters or fields. This field is not available for a static cluster.

Note: Lookups are not available in forms for the Mobile application.

Lookup Expressions

Cluster

The expression used in the lookup. This field is not available for a static cluster.

Note: When a lookup visibility expression is configured for a responsive form, a default lookup needs to be selected.

Size Tab

Content Height

Cluster
Static Cluster

Modifying the Content Height field does not affect the cluster.

Content Width

Cluster
Static Cluster

Modifying the Content Width field does not affect the cluster.

Horizontal Alignment

Cluster

Controls the horizontal placement in the section.

Vertical Alignment

Cluster

Controls the vertical placement in the section.

Logic Tab

Note: See Logic Tab for details about Mandatory, Availability, Visibility and Readonly fields. For Static Clusters, only the Visibility field is used.

Inline Summary View Expression

Cluster

This option is used for the purpose of summarizing data from other parts (clusters, fields, pop-ups) which have been previously defined elsewhere in the form. An example of how this is used appears in the Investigation Overview tab of the standard Peer Review and RCA management forms. As data is entered in other parts of the form, matching elements are updated in the Investigation Overview tab to provide a read-only summary of the file. Check the Inline Summary View box and choose:

  • True - the cluster is displayed as read-only and are updated as data is entered from the original instance.
  • False - if you want to allow user input for the element, choose False or leave this field blank.
  • Note: It is not recommended to have multiple instances of an element that allows user input or modification. However, if you do, the most recent data entered in an element will override all instances of that element.
  • Calculated - to use the Expression Editor to define when elements are displayed.

Contains only one child

Cluster

This field is only active when an inline or popup grid appears inside the cluster. In this situation, the field should be set to true.

Content Tab

Note: This tab only appears for static clusters. This is used to define the text that appears inside the cluster. Basic HTML tags are supported.

Content

Static Cluster

A large text field used to create the instructions or other information that should appear in the cluster. You can enter the text in plain text, or click the Edit link to apply formatting in a text editor, as shown below:
