Inbox Search Details

Each inbox has its own set of search details, which is grouped into two or more categories. You can select multiple values from each of the categories described in the table below:

All

Where the patient was treated. For an inpatient this is the current location (e.g., nursing unit).

Stream Type

Admission

Whether the patient is an inpatient, emergency patient, outpatient or some other category used by the hospital.

Admit Source

Admission

Indicates where the patient came from prior to being admitted (if the site uses this code for that purpose). Some sites choose to use this code for other purposes.

Hospital Service

Admission

Pharmacy

The hospital service currently treating the patient.

Diagnosis Code

Admission

Allows you to filter the search results based on the patient’s assigned diagnosis code. The diagnosis code indicates a particular diagnosis, symptom or procedure done to a patient.

Organism

Laboratory

The organism (i.e., bacteria, virus, fungus or parasite) that was detected in the specimen.

Test Type

Laboratory

The type of test performed on the specimen. The list of available test types is built from the laboratory results received by the integration services from your laboratory system. Examples are blood cultures, wound cultures, HIV and hepatitis tests.

Category

Laboratory

The category of the result indicates the class of result causing the it to appear in the Inbox. The following categories are standard to all sites, although other categories may exist based on the messages sent by your organization’s lab:

  • Organism – an organism was found.
  • Significant Organism – an organism Organismwith the “Organism_Significant” group tag was found.
  • Culture Isolate – a culture result was found with no formally identified organism.
  • Isolate – a non-micro abnormal test.
  • Of Interest – a result that is not necessarily abnormal but the organization determined that is should be shown in the inbox.

Patient Class

Laboratory

Whether the patient is an inpatient or outpatient or some other category used by the hospital.

ACT Drug

Pharmacy

The names of the medications prescribed to the patient.

ACT Drug Class

Pharmacy

Lists the categories of the Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical (ACT) classification system.

Status

Pharmacy

Defaults to "Include All" Results

Procedure

Surgical Procedure

The description of the surgical procedure performed on the patient.

Results Status

Radiology Result

Select between "Include All" or "Final" to see all results or final laboratory test results.
