Creating Manual Denominators

Manual denominators can be created ahead of time or during the report’s creation. Any user with access to the Report Center can create new denominators or modify existing ones. You may use the action links to delete or modify existing denominators; use caution when deleting denominators, however, as they may be used in another person’s report.

The instructions below describe how to create a manual denominator:

  1. Access the Report Center and click Denominator. The Denominator page opens.
  2. Click New Denominator to create a new denominator, as shown, or check the box next to an existing one and click Modify.
  3. Complete the fields in the New Denominator dialog box:
    1. Description Fields – used to describe the denominator's purpose. Only the Name field is required.
    2. Report Fields – used to filter the values of the corresponding fields on the Values tab.
  4. Click Save to return to the Denominator page.
  5. Check the box next to a denominator, select a date range, and click Add Values.
  6. On the Edit tab, enter the counts. Values are automatically saved.
  7. To view the summary of existing values, click the Summary tab (not shown).
  8. To remove the existing values, check off a denominator and click Delete.
